Breakfast was very good, nice selection, loved the croissants! Quiet but very near city centre, also bus stops near by if needed. Great light fixtures in the rooms, and the complimentary Moxy drink was tasty and refreshing Loved how pet friendly it is.

The staff were really friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable, loved all the games available at reception, and that it is dog friendly (although we didn’t bring our pups on this occasion, we definitely will in the future). We had a slight issue with the sink in our bedroom but when we shared this with a member of staff, this was seen to straight away with 5* service and smile.

I liked that we got a free cocktail upon arrival, the games available in the lobby and the Photo Booth. We also appreciated the dog picture wall.

The hotel is located very close to all main attractions, which is great. The décor is modern, quirky and so might not be to everyone's taste. Overall very clean, rooms are attended daily. However I missed a proper wardrobe - the room only had 3 hooks on the wall with 5 hangers for two of us. No shelving units, no additional storage space to keep your staff. There is only a glass shelve next to a bed, and not very big too. There is no fridge and the bathroom was rather small without any ventilation system. What was cool - the motion sensors waking up LED lights underneath the bed and inside the glass shelves edge. Mattress was very soft, which we didn't like as it was not very comfortable. But some people may prefer it over a hard mattress. The breakfast costs £ 12.50 per person, which you might think is not too bad, but the same food was served every single day-not even a change between scrambled and fried eggs for example. The breakfast was a bit of a downturn. However the staff is extremely nice, helpful, polite and creates a positive, welcoming atmosphere. Overall happy with the stay. This is more of a 'express' hotel, but the stay was generally very pleasant.

The hotel, facilities and staff were fantastic. The location was really nice too, not far from the main attractions, but not too close so noise was not an issue. I was quiet surprised by the prices at the bar, the cocktails were a little expensive but the 'standard' drinks were pretty much the same as most bars in the area. A special request for the room was also fulfilled just by messaging them via this site. The actual price of the hotel was pretty decent, considering the usually inflated costs of staying in York.

Moxy is in walking distance of all attractions in the city and the train station. The local area is quiet. For the believers, Moxy is next to one of the most haunted pubs in York! We weren’t disturbed by any potential hauntings lol. The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside, smells amazing and is spotless. There are games for children and adults alike, as well as a free arcade game (not the VR in photos. Added accidentally and can’t delete it). Lots of nice little touches, Photo Booth, umbrella rentals, snacks, drinks, food for pets, kitchen and bar serving until late. Breakfast was fantastic (apart from the bacon and the bread) there was loads of choice. Also, kids 10 and under eat free. Rooms are very neat and clean. Fresh towels every day. A lovely hotel that I would definitely stay at again.

Modern and stylish decor. Very friendly staff. Lovely and clean. Good location within the city centre and close to the nearby Q-Park. Nice quirky little extras. Great choice at breakfast and available 6-10am so convenient timing for all. Asked if they could possibly add a bottle of wine to the room for arrival and they could offer a choice of packages with rose petals, balloons and a mirror message. One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend and will be retuning.

My 3rd time staying at Moxy York whilst visiting family: a modern vibe to this industrial style hotel. Staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities. The buffet breakfast has a good range of dishes for all tastes, and I do appreciate the oat/soya alternatives. Hotel is a short walk from the city centre, and short drive from the railway station: expect to pay around £5.00 for Uber. Room price was fair for a popular destination.
